Making Games and Taking Names: January 2018

We've been hard at work the last month and wanted to post some highlights of what we've been up to. We've got big things ahead of us at Atheris Games and we're super excited to share them.

For those of you who don't know we launched our second game, Mutant Crops on Kickstarter in March 2017, which we licensed from a board game company based in Argentina, Ok Ediciones. Mutant Crops is a 15-30 minute worker placement game for 2-4 players.

This month most of the orders of Mutant Crops have been sent out (with a few exceptions, most based on not filling out the backer survey in-time and a few others that were simply lost in transit and must be resent). The game also released in distribution yesterday (January 26th) and is being solicited by Hit Point Sales.

Please request a pre-order from you local friendly local gaming store (FLGS). If you were not able to pledge via Kickstarter and are unable to locate a local gaming store than you can also purchase the game via Amazon in the US here.

Supernatural Socks

Supernatural Socks is a 15-30 minute filler game for 2-4 players. Supernatural Socks is currently live on Kickstarter! The game is fully funded and has already hit two stretch goals. Help us hit some more by pledging today!

Sebastian Koziner (the designer of Mutant Crops) has been hard at work making some new gameplay changes to his other game Oni, which we recently gained the rights to publish. Oni is a 30-60 minute party game for 3-6 players.

We haven't had significant progress since November, but will be bringing the project back to the forefront shortly.

Ruins of Mars

Ruins of Mars is a 1.5-2 hour medium weight strategy game for 2-4 players.

This month we've had a lot of work on Ruins of Mars. We came up with the box cover and a lot of the card layouts. We still have some artwork development and final touches on some gameplay, but the process is moving along well.

Last weekend we met with the designer to incorporate variable player powers and abilities for each of the five sites on the board. Both changes make the game quicker, more fun and all around more balanced. The game is coming out absolutely incredible!

We're super excited about this.

Holeshot Heroes

Andrew has been working on Holeshot Heroes every week. This week we should have a physical prototype to play test shortly. All the artwork has already been complete for a previous iteration of the game so once the game mechanics are finalized we can work on the final graphic design elements.

Revenge at Ragnarok

This month we finalized an agreement and signed a new game called Revenge at Ragnarok, which is a co-design with Ken Shannon and Andrew Birkett. Ken Shannon is the esteemed designer of Tournament at Camelot and Approaching Dawn: The Witching Hour by WizKids. We're incredibly proud to be working with him on this project and will be releasing more information as we have it!

Cul-De-Sac Conquest

Last month we signed a co-publishing deal with Vile Genius Games for Cul-De-Sac Conquest. It also has led Andrew to begin developing a new expansion for the game, which will add new card types, new characters to play as and all kinds of other fun things!

Other Announcements

This month we saw the release of our first physical advertisement. We selected a half page ad in Casual Game Insider. We have an ad in all four issues of 2018 so we're looking forward to seeing how they all come out.

We just submitted our second ad, which is at the top of the above picture. All of our ads focus around our new slogan "A story for every game and a game for every story."

That's all for now!

We're looking forward to seeing what is happening with Atheris next month and sharing it with all of you! Thanks for reading!
