Making Games and Taking Names: December 2017

We've been hard at work the last month and wanted to post some highlights of what we've been up to. We've got big things ahead of us at Atheris Games and we're super excited to share them.

For those of you who don't know we launched our second game, Mutant Crops on Kickstarter in March 2017, which we licensed from a board game company based in Argentina, Ok Ediciones. Mutant Crops is a 15-30 minute worker placement game for 2-4 players.

This month we've been informed that GamesQuest had picked and packed all the orders and now that all orders are shipped. Our first backer let us know they received the game December 25th. Merry Christmas to us! We're so thankful that the game is shipping to backers and cannot wait to hear our backer's thoughts on the game.

The game is set to release to distribution January 26th 2018 and is being solicited by Hit Point Sales. Please request a pre-order from you local friendly local gaming store (FLGS). If you were not able to pledge via Kickstarter and are unable to locate a local gaming store than you can also purchase the game via Amazon in the US here.

Supernatural Socks

Supernatural Socks is a 15-30 minute filler game for 2-4 players. We got the game back from the developers and got great feedback last month.

We've been finishing development, working on the Kickstarter page, working on our main video and getting reviews for the game. It has been a lot of work, but things are progressing really well!

Here is a preview of the potential voice over for our Kickstarter video

and here is a song we want to use for the video

We have set a Kickstarter date! January 10th at 11am EST Supernatural Socks will go live! Here is a preview link if you want to be reminded when it goes live.

Sebastian Koziner (the designer of Mutant Crops) has been hard at work making some new gameplay changes to his other game Oni, which we recently gained the rights to publish. Oni is a 30-60 minute party game for 3-6 players.

We had a lot of work complete in October and November, but this month have been more focused on Supernatural Socks so we've only been able to do minor development work for Oni. Though, fret not, the game is going to be incredible!

Ruins of Mars

Ruins of Mars is a 1.5-2 hour medium weight strategy game for 2-4 players.

In December we commissioned a few card layouts and have play tested the game numerous times. These sessions have been really valuable. They're really making even better than it already was.

We're super excited about this.

Holeshot Heroes

Last month we announced that we're bringing back development on Holeshot Heroes. Initial gameplay ideas are being worked on to make the game as good as it can be as we want to completely revamp it from the game it was before (for those unfamiliar this is the first game we ever produced for Atheris Games, but ultimately delayed the project to work on Cul-De-Sac Conquest - which became our first published game).

Other Announcements

This month we signed a co-publishing deal with Vile Genius Games for Cul-De-Sac Conquest. This means they'll be printing more copies of the base game. Additionally, they're working with Andrew to create a new expansion for the game, which should entail all new card types as well as a ton of fun new annoying neighbors that will be joining the cul-de-sac!

That's all for now!

We're looking forward to seeing what is happening with Atheris next month and sharing it with all of you! Thanks for reading!

We hope everyone has a fabulous New Year filled with games and laughter!
